← Back to Write, Adopt, and Maintain the Emergency Plan

Plan Maintenance and Review.

Build the habit that keeps the emergency plan accurate, so it is current on the day it is finally needed rather than two years out of date.

The last step of Write, Adopt, and Maintain the Emergency Plan, then on the schedule you set here.

Part A. Set the rhythm

Part B. Refresh on trigger events

Update the plan whenever any of these happen, not just at the yearly review.

Part C. Do the first review now

Confirm each is still accurate today, and fix what has drifted.

ItemStill accurate?Fixed
Backup authorities and signers
Access record and passwords
Interim successor and their readiness
Board activation and communication plan
Emergency handoff pack

A living plan has a named owner, a date on the calendar, and a habit of refreshing when things change. If your first review found things already out of date only months after adoption, that is exactly why this step exists, and it is the difference between a plan that works and a plan that only looked like protection.
