Turn your evidence into three plain, distinct statements: what you do, the world you want, and the values that govern how you behave.

Mission: what we do and for whom, in one sentence a tired person can remember

Test: could your newest volunteer repeat it after hearing it twice? If not, cut it down.

Vision: the world we are working toward, not the work we do

Test: is this about the world, or about us? It should be about the world.

Values, three to five, each with what it looks like when it costs something
