For each report, draw on your deliverable and finance trackers and write the programmatic and financial report the funder requires, honest about wins and shortfalls, submitted on time. A late report is the first thing that erodes trust.

Where government compliance runs beyond your depth, get a nonprofit accountant who knows government grants, and route the heavy work to compliance, legal and risk. And if a compliance problem has already happened, money spent outside the rules, a requirement missed, do not hide it: get the professional and tell the funder, because a disclosed and fixed problem is survivable and a hidden one usually is not.
